In September of 2020 I attended the annual conference for A Writers Night Association (ANWA). At the online conference I attended a presentation by Carrie and Lara from Lawley Publishers. Lawley books is a small independent publisher in Gilbert Arizona dedicated to children’s books.
The Lost Island is a story that Thomas and I wrote together, I hadn’t even thought about publishing it. But I was inspired by their presentation. They were dedicated to publishing children’s books with uplifting messages. And guess what, that is exactly what The Lost Island is.
After a brief pitch meeting with Carrie and Lara I sent them my book. A few months later we worked out the details. And it was official, I was publishing a book.
